Overview of HPV associated Cervical lesion

Cervical lesion is also called an intraepithelial lesion, is an abnormality in the cells of your cervix that could eventually develop into cervical cancer. The persistent infection by specific types of high-risk human papillomaviruses (HR-HPVs) is essential for the progression of cervical lesions(PMID: 18199779). In the histological diagnosis cervical lesions were grouped as negative, CIN I, CIN II/III, and invasive carcinoma (IC).(PMID: 11328837)
