In conclusion, the results presented in this study suggest that the most frequent gp46 mutations (F14S, N42H, V247I and S35L), as well as, the mutations (H290D, C289R, F141S, D197N and F159S) associated to the loss of a post-translational site should be evaluated in greater detail, in particular the reactivity of the mutated proteins against natural antibodies.
