Evidence Moreover, they are often detected several years before HCC onset, raising the question of a direct involvement of N-linked glycans in disease progression. Recently, twenty additional N-glycosylation sites have been reported in HBsAg/anti-HBsAg antibodies-coexistent patients, of which the previously characterized T131N+M133T mutations (Table 1) were clearly the dominant pattern, being detected in more than 50% of cases.
