Importantly, neither WT nor R80A Vpr had any significant effect on HIV-1 expression in the DeltaZASC1 (Fig 6C) or DeltaZBTB2 (Fig 6D) cell lines, implying that Vpr effects on HIV-1 transcription depend on ZASC1 and ZBTB2.
