Among the R169 mutants, the R169G and R169L mutants were similar to the R169P mutant in possessing little double-stranded replicative DNA and in being deficient in the secretion of both virions and HBsAg, whereas the R169H and R169Q mutants showed selective impairment or block of virion secretion (Fig. 2A, B, E, and F, lanes 10 to 14)
