In contrast, pHBV-rtF249A and -rtM250I only produced RC DNA bands and their levels were 12.9% and 25.8% as compared to that of pHBV1.3, respectively (Fig. 1C, lower panel), which suggest that these two aa substitutions may impair the RT activity of HBV polymerase.
