Title Increased occurrence of mutant rtI233V of HBV in patients receiving adefovir therapy.

Evidence Direct sequencing showed that rtI233V substitution emerged alone in 33 patients, in conjunction with LAM-resistant mutation (rtA181V, rtN236T) in 9 patients, and in conjunction with LAM-resistant mutation (rtM204I, rtM204V) in 4 patients who had experienced LAM prior to ADV treat-ment (Table 1).
