Title Analysis of potential antiviral resistance mutation profiles within the HBV reverse transcriptase in untreated chronic hepatitis B patients using an ultra-deep pyrosequencing method.
Author Ciftci S,Keskin F,Cakiris A,Akyuz F,Pinarbasi B,Abaci N,Dincer E,Badur S,Kaymakoglu S,Ustek D
Evidence Two of the 4 patients developed drug resistance after LAM therapy. The resistance mutations (M204I and L80V+L80I+L180M+M204I) were detected after 6 months of treatment. Viral isolates before treatment from both individuals (patient B2 and B3) carried the rtT128I (ratio; 10.4% and 18.2%) and rtC256S (ratio; 15.3% and 21.6%) putative antiviral resistance mutations against LAM.
