Title Hepatitis B virus polymerase variants associated with entecavir drug resistance in treatment-naive patients.
Author Jardi R,Rodriguez-Frias F,Schaper M,Ruiz G,Elefsiniotis I,Esteban R,Buti M
Evidence Before therapy, five (4.5%) HBV isolated from the 111 patients presented substitutions in the polymerase gene related with drug resistance to nucleoside analogues, three (2.7%) involving changes associated with ETV resistance (all had the rtS202S/I substitution) and two with lamivudine resistance (rtL180L/M and rtM204M/I).
