Univariate binary logistic regression analysis showed significant correlation of several substitutions with the HBeAg negativity, including G1776A (OR = 8.1, 95% CI: 1.7-39; P = 0.009), A1846T (OR = 3.8, 95% CI: 1.2-11.8; P = 0.02), G1896A (OR = 3.5, 95% CI: 1.4-8.6; P = 0.007), and the number of individual point mutations >= 3 (OR = 2.8, 95% CI: 1.1-6.8; P = 0.027).
