Evidence The earlier report of EBNA1 variation described codon 487 as A, T, P, or L, but only one example of 487P was reported in that work. It seems that 487P is a very rare variant, because all of the 193 samples we analyzed had A, T, V, or L at codon 487 (Fig. 4A).
