Discussion: Moreover, there are other reported escape mutants (P120T, T126A/S, and D144A/G) responsible for the evasion of vaccine-induced antibodies and therefore cause HBV infection in vaccinated individuals.

Result: Among 9 mutated isolates sharing 6 types of aa substitutions with HBV genotype B, three types of VEMs (T126A, Q129H and D144A) were also detected (Table 4).
Result: Eight types of these mutations (I126S, I126N, Q129H, S143L, D144A, D144E, G145A, and G145R) had demonstrated low ability to bind antibodies and were identified as VEMs previously.
